Ayodhya has become the confluence of Lord Ram devotees from not just all corners of India but even abroad ahead of the January 22 Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Lord Ram idol in the Ram Temple. News18 in Ayodhya on Saturday met a group of young women who had come from London in saffron robes.
Dr Sadhvi Avakshi Bharti is a double Ph.D. who worked as a psychologist in the UK before she gave up everything to become a monk. Saint Gabrielle worked as a biologist with the UK government but has taken sanyaas too at a young age. This is their first trip to Ayodhya and they last came to India as a child.
“We all are Sadhvis and Guru sisters. We are followers of Her holiness Maa Ashutoshamvari ji," Dr Sadhvi Avakshi Bharti says, as she took a flight from London to come to Ayodhya and immerse the sights of Ram Ki Paudi, the Saryu River and the Ram Temple. She was accompanied by Saint Gabrielle from London as well, Sadhvi Pragya Bharti from Delhi, Sadhvi Jyoti Prabha Bharti and Sadhvi Pooja Bharti from Uttar Pradesh.
“I am here in Ayodhya to celebrate Lord Ram’s Pran Pratishtha. It is a huge day, this is a day that shifts the world. It is a groundbreaking day for sanatanis. So many years, it has been a struggle to be able to celebrate your dharma, and your religion openly. Now we are getting the honour to do so on a world stage. The whole world is here and we are getting an opportunity to pay obeisance to Ram Lalla," Sadhvi Avakshi told News18.

Saint Gabrielle who has accompanied her from London too says it is their devotion to Lord Ram that has brought them to Ayodhya. “What first attracted me to India was that I needed a guru. I was fortunate that I met one in Maa Ashutoshamvari ji. It is amazing here in Ayodhya, the energy and positivity are very high, everyone is talking about Lord Ram, and the majority of the time people are talking about Ramayana and hindu sanskriti, vedas and mantras which have guided us for thousands and years and ages. It is great to see that there is this divine light which seems to be shining," Saint Gabrielle told News18.
Another young Sadhvi, Sadhvi Pragya Bharti from Delhi said it was a big change to see Lord Ram shifting from a tent to a grand temple. “Ram is the owner of the whole universe. As a disciple, we were praying for this divine moment and finally the day has come that as per grace of lord ram," she told News18. They are hoping to pay obeisance at the new temple on January 23.
