The MeT reports that a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal intensified into a depression on December 1 and is expected to become a cyclonic storm by December 3. Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue

After the 41 trapped workers were rescued from the partially collapsed Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi on November 28, widespread celebrations began. Following 17 days of non-stop effort and labour, the multi-agency rescue operation was completed. The pipes were pushed inside the tunnel after the final stretch of debris was cleared by rat miners, who were called to the scene after the auger machine was cut out of the debris with plasma cutters. COP28 Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Dubai for the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28), has proposed hosting COP33 in India in 2028.
