WATCH: Mitchell Santner Scores 13 off Last Delivery of NZ Innings Against Netherlands in ICC ODI WC 2023
Bas De Leed's no-ball in the final delivery of the Kiwi innings provided Santner to make 13 runs off a single legal ball as he dispatched the illegal delivery for a six and followed it up with yet another maximum in the resulting free-hit.

The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is in full swing as the tournament in India has already tabled up some incredible games of cricket.

One notable moment from the nascent phase of the campaign came during the game between the Netherlands and New Zealand, which the Kiwis went on to win by 99 runs.

The Kiwis batted first and amassed a total of 322 runs for the loss of 7 wickets as Will Young, Tom Latham and Rachin Ravindra all notched up half-tons.

However, the last ball of the NZ innings was an interesting one to look at as Mitchell Santner managed to score 13 runs off the final delivery.

Dutch bowler Bas De Leed failed to hit the deck on the last delivery on the innings and delivered a full toss, which Santner dispatched for a six. The umpire adjudged it to be a no-ball due to the height of the delivery and signalled for a free hit as the over continued.

The resulting delivery, which was accepted as a legal one, was a low-full toss and Santner repeated the reply with yet another shot over the ropes as it put the ball away for another six.

As a result, the final delivery of the over went for 13 runs, propelling the Kiwi total.

Coming out to chase the target and cause an upset, the Dutch ultimately came up well short of the mark as they were bundled out by the team from down under for a total of 223 runs.

Santner starred with the ball in his hand as he registered a 5-wicket haul, while Matt Henry scalped 3 wickets.

With the win New Zealand have opened the tournament with two wins on the trot following their decimation of England in the curtain raiser, as they beat the holders by 9 wickets in a high-scoring encounter.

The Kiwis are slated to take on Bangladesh in their next fixture on the 13th of October, while the Netherlands take on South Africa on the 17th of October.
