A video of a dangerous car stunt, performed on the streets of Noida, has prompted Uttar Pradesh police to take action after the clip went viral on social media. The traffic police in Noida have issued a challan of Rs 26,000 against a car owner after a man was seen lying on the roof of a moving vehicle in the Sector 18 area of the city.

In the now-viral video, a Maruti Swift can be seen wading through the busy traffic while a man in a yellow t-shirt lay on the roof of the vehicle with his legs on the windshield.

In the 20-second clip, the driver of the car, with the Delhi registration number, can be seen taking sharp cuts to overtake other vehicles on the busy road, swinging the man from left to right.

Responding to the viral video clip on X (formerly Twitter), Noida traffic police said that the car owner, a Delhi resident, has been charged under various sections of the Motor Vehicles Act (MVA).

The driver has also been penalised for using tinted glass windows and a combined fine of Rs 26,000 has been issued against him.

In another case of a traffic violation, vehicular movement on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway came to a standstill briefly, after the driver of a white Maruti Baleno suddenly started taking violent swirls in the middle of the road.

In the video of the incident going viral on social media, two men can be seen popping their bodies out through the car’s window — one in front and the other from the back seat, as the driver drove the vehicle in circles.

The act shocked several motorists, forcing them to promptly halt their vehicles to avoid any untoward incident.

The act was caught on camera by several motorists, who later posted them on social media asking police to take action against the culprits.

Taking cognisance of the video clips, Uttar Pradesh Police asked its Meerut unit to look into the matter, following which a probe was launched to identify the men inside the car.

“The concerned station in charge has been directed for necessary action,” the Meerut Police replied to the tweet by UP Police.
