A “mentally challenged” flier was detained for allegedly “misbehaving” and “locking himself” inside the bathroom of an IndiGo Hyderabad-Patna flight mid-air. Following a complaint against him by the crew, the man was detained as soon as the flight landed at Patna airport.
According to an ANI report, the incident occurred on IndiGo flight 6E 126.
“He misbehaved on the flight and also locked himself inside the toilet onboard,” the crew said in their complaint.
Station House Officer, Airport police station, Vinod Peter noted that the passenger, identified as Kamar Riyaz, is “mentally disabled” and is under treatment.
“The passenger, Kamar Riyaz, is mentally disabled and is under treatment. He was carrying medical reports. He was travelling with one of his relatives from Hyderabad to Patna,” the official was quoted by ANI as saying.
“On a complaint filed by indigo staff, we detained him,” he added.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
