New Delhi: Even after joining the Bharatiya Janata party for over a year now, former prime minister Manmohan Singh's stepbrother Daljeet Singh Kohli is still waiting for a party post, said reports.

Kohli, an Amritsar-based businessman, joined BJP at a Lok Sabha election campaign rally where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in attendance. While Prime Minister Modi had welcomed him to the party in 2014, he hasn't been rewarded with a post yet.

According to reports, Kohli said he will be approaching Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on the matter.

After his inclusion in the BJP, Kohli had said that Manmohan Singh was not given full authority to run the government for which he decided to join the saffron party.

Kohli further said, "Manmohan Singh never had a free hand in the working of the government and could not work to his capacity."

Kohli had remained apolitical even after his elder brother Manmohan Singh became prime minister in 2004 and got a second term in 2009.
