13. Aizawl East-I is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Mizoram and is part of Mizoram Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Aizawl East-I falls in Aizawl district and Aizwal region of Mizoram. It is categorized as a urban seat.
There are a total of 24,116 voters in the seat, which includes 11,723 male voters, and 12,393 female voters. In the 2018 Mizoram elections, Aizawl East-I recorded a voter turnout of 79.8%. In 2013 the turnout was 81.12%, and in 2008 it was 79.7%.
In 2013, R Lalrinawma of INC won the seat by a margin of 422 votes (2.56%). R Lalrinawma secured 37.72% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 1,089 votes (8.06%), registering 37.61% of the total votes polled.
