This Scheduled Caste Assembly constituency has an estimated Scheduled Caste population of 21.15% and an estimated Scheduled Tribe population of 0.02%, according to the report of the Delimitation Commission, 2008. In 2012, Tribhuvan Ram of BSP emerged victorious in this seat beating Lalji of SP by a margin of 2,083 votes which was 1.12% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BSP had a vote share of 32.35% in the seat.
