New Delhi: BJP has launched masks of its prime ministerial candidate L K Advani in waiting for this Lok Sabha elections . The mask concept was introduced for the first time in 2007 and it had been a huge hit with the voters in Gujarat. Now the BJP is now banking on a repeat of its 2007 success.
Also, BJP on Monday announced that Advani will not celebrate Holi as a mark of respect to those killed in the Mumbai terror strikes.
"Advani has decided in his individual capacity that he will not be celebrating Holi as a mark of respect to those killed in the November 26 Mumbai terror attack," BJP spokesperson Siddharth Nath Singh told reporters on Monday.
However, this decision has been taken by Advani on his own and is not binding on the BJP or its leaders. "Whoever in the BJP wants to celebrate Holi is free to do so," Siddharth said.
The veteran leader has not celebrated any of the festivals that have fallen since 26/11, he said.
As many as 183 people were killed in the three-day attack in the financial capital of the country. The dead included Mumbai ATS chief Hemant Karkare, encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar and ACP Ashok Kamte.
