New Delhi: Three weeks after being slammed by CAG for alleged irregularities in certain CWG projects, Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit on Saturday questioned the findings of the report and claimed she was not indicted by the auditor.
"All that was alleged was totally false," Dikshit told after a meeting of Congress Legislature Party.
The CLP meeting was called to finalise strategies for the monsoon session of Delhi Assembly beginning on Monday as BJP is set to corner the government on the CAG report.
"Everybody knows what are the myths about the CAG report and what are the real truths," Dikshit said, claiming CAG had even clarified that she was not indicted by the auditor.
"The CAG had in the press conference (on Aug 5) denied that there was any (indictment) of the Chief Minister," she said.
Dikshit said all the party MLAs were given a presentation so that they can better defend the government in the assembly session if BJP raises the CAG report.
The aim of the presentation was to make them understand the CAG report, sources said.
BJP has been demanding Dikshit's resignation following the CAG report and has accused Congress of "maintaining double standards and going on the overdrive to save her".
The CAG report, which was tabled in Parliament, has pointed out several "irregularities" in various projects, including streetlighting and streetscaping, undertaken by the government in the run-up to the Commonwealth Games held in October last year.
Delhi government had rejected all the allegations made against her in the report.
Dikshit said the Assembly will not be able to discuss the CAG report as it is before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament.
"The Speaker will have to take a decision on the issue," she said.
Responding to a question on BJP's criticism of the duration of the assembly's monsoon session, Dikshit said the opposition party was never interested in any fruitful discussion in the House. The House will sit for only five days for the monsoon sesion.
"They always criticise the duration of sessions. But they never have any issue to discuss," she said.
Asked about the Shunglu committee recommendations, Dikshit said a Group of Ministers appointed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was examining the findings and that Delhi government has already sent a paragraph-wise response to the report to the Home Ministry.
Sources said that at Saturday's CLP meeting, Dikshit asked the party MLAs to defend the government aggressively if BJP tries to raise the CAG report in the House.
The CLP also passed a resolution hailing Rahul Gandhi for his speech on Lokpal Bill in the Lok Sabha on Friday.
"We passed a resolution congratulating Rahul Gandhi for the statement he made in Parliament yesterday reiterating the supremacy of parliamentary institutions in the country," Dikshit said.
