Nitin Gadkari had recently rebuked Yeddyurappa for mounting pressure for his reinstatement as chief minister.
New Delhi: The Congress on Friday steered clear of the issue of a fresh comeback bid by former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa after the state High Court gave him a clean chit in an illegal mining case.
"Legal process is playing itself out. It is not for us to second guess that process," party spokesman Manish Tewari told when asked to comment on the issue.
Losing no time after the verdict came two days back, Yeddyurappa, who has been seeking his reinstatement as the chief minister, dispatched a copy of the judgement to party President Nitin Gadkari.
Gadkari had recently rebuked Yeddyurappa for mounting pressure for his reinstatement as chief minister and indicated he had to come clean in the corruption cases.
