BJP MLA Om Praakash Sharma was suspended from the assembly till Thursday for using foul language against AAP MLA Alka Lamba.
New Delhi: BJP MLA Om Prakash Sharma in the Delhi Assembly was suspended on Tuesday after he made a sexist comment on Aam Aadmi Party MLA Alka Lamba.
BJP MLA Om Praakash Sharma was suspended from the assembly till Thursday for using foul language against Lamba. Sharma inferred that Lamba is a woman with loose morals and roams around at night.
Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia has asked for the matter to be referred to the Ethics Committee. However, women MLAs are not backing out and have upped the ante saying that if Sharma is not suspended, then they would boycott assembly proceedings.
