Delhi Police to press for further custody of JNU students Umar, Anirban

With the three day custody of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students Umar Khalid and Anirban expiring on Saturday, the Delhi police could seek further custody.

The students were arrested on sedition charges for allegedly raising anti-national slogans in a pro-Afzal Guru event organised within the campus premises.

Sources close to CNN-IBN said that during probe it was found that Umar stayed inside the campus at a professor's residence for few days and also at a friends place in Sukdev Vihar.

Delhi police will produce the students in a makeshift courtroom after the Delhi High court ordered the police to maintain confidentiality during remand proceedings.
