Chennai: AIADMK Chief J Jayalalithaa on Thursday, termed the seat sharing differences between DMK and Congress as a "farce" and accused Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi of threatening to pull out only when his party's interests were affected.

Jayalalithaa said Karunanidhi had threatened to pull out in 2009 after a stalemate with Congress on allotment of cabinet berths to the DMK during the UPA-II government formation.

The DMK President had not taken such steps on issues including inter-state river water issues such as Mullaperiyar, or Indian fishermen being allegedly attacked by the Sri Lankan navy or when the Centre hiked fuel prices, she said in a statement.

DMK and Congress on Tuesday, finalised a seat sharing agreement for the April 13 Tamil Nadu Assembly polls, after hard bargaining on the part of Congress, which culminated in the national party being allotted 63 seats while DMK would contest in 121 seats.
