Ghulam Nabi Azad takes dig at the rift between Advani, Modi
BJP was in a dilemma on Saturday over anointing Narendra Modi as BJP's campaign committee chief for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Kolkata: In an apparent dig at the reported rift between BJP leaders LK Advani and Narendra Modi, senior Congress leader and Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Saturday said it is for BJP to solve it as his party is not behind it.

"There is a rift in the leadership in one party and that rift has to be settled by BJP itself. Fortunately, Congress is not the cause of the rift," Azad said when asked by scribes here to comment on the alleged rift between the two leaders.

BJP was in a dilemma on Saturday over anointing Modi, the Gujarat Chief Minister, as campaign committee chief for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in the absence of patriarch LK Advani and other senior leaders, who have not turned up for the ongoing National Executive meeting at Panaji as they are said to be opposed to such a move.

Ill health was cited as the reason for Advani's decision to keep away from the two-day meeting of the National Executive that began today as leaders clamoured for Modi's elevation as campaign head for the elections.
