Bishrampur: After Congress President Sonia Gandhi said that she was giving her son to the people of Amethi and wanted them to take care of him, BJP leader Narendra Modi said that how can Rahul Gandhi be expected to take care of the country if he cannot even manage manage Amethi.
"His mother (Sonia Gandhi) is urging the people of Amethi to look after her son whereas she wants her son to take care of the nation (as prime minister)," Modi said at a rally in Chhattisgarh.
"I want to ask them a question: How will he (Gandhi) look after the nation when he couldn't manage to do so in Amethi," added Modi.
Modi added that the "mother-son" duo had ruined the country, referring to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Earlier, Sonia Gandhi had said, "Indira Gandhi had once said that she was gifting her son Rajeev Gandhi to Amethi. Just like her, I am also gifting my son to Amethi."
