Bangalore: Karnataka High Court on Monday adjourned to August 30 the applications filed by state unit JDS president HD Kumaraswamy and his wife seeking stay on the Lokayukta court proceedings in which he has been summoned for Tuesday.
The application filed by Kumaraswamy's counsel Azmath Pasha came up for hearing before single judge, Justice KN Keshava Narayana and was adjourned to Tuesday for further hearing.
On August 8, the Lokayukta court had ordered issue of summons to Kumaraswamy and his wife Anita Kumarasway in a private complaint filed by city-based advocate Vinod Kumar alleging irregularities in renewal of mining lease to a private firm and bulk allotment of land to housing cooperative society during his tenure as Chief Minister for "personal gains".
Kumaraswamy and Anita subsequently filed applications seeking anticipatory bail in Lokayukta court which is also posted to Tuesday for orders.
