Political mudslinging is gathering momentum in Bihar ahead of the assembly elections in the state. Remembering Mahatma Gandhi on the 146th birth anniversary, Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and indirectly held him responsible for the assassination of the Father of the Nation.
In a tweet posted on Friday, Lalu said, "Question: Who follows Godse? Answer: RSS; Question: Who follows RSS? Answer: BJP; Question: Who is running the BJP? Answer: Modi. (Question: Bapu ke hatyare Godse ko kaun poojhta hai, Answer: RSS; Question: RSS ko kaun poojta hai, Answer: BJP; Question: BJP ko kaun chala raha hai, Answer: Modi; to hatyara kaun hua?)
This tweet is just one among the volley of statements being hurled at each other by the National Democratic Alliance leaders and the leaders of the Mahagatbandhan (Janata Dal United-RJP-Congress combine).
Lalu had earlier launched a scathing attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah calling him a 'Narbhakshhi', which translates to man-eater. Not far behind, Lalu's wife and former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi also attacked the BJP president saying, "Amit Shah has come from jail. He killed thousands of people. He is a 'jallad'."
Q- बापू के हत्यारे गोडसे को कौन पूजता है?A- RSSQ- आरएसएस को कौन पूजता है?A- BJPQ-बीजेपी को कौन चला रहा है?A- मोदीतो हत्यारा कौन हुआ?— Lalu Prasad Yadav (@laluprasadrjd) October 2, 2015
Hitting back at Lalu, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had on Thursday claimed that Lalu Prasad had prepared a false report on the Godhra train accident when he was the Railways Minister. Jaitley accused the RJD of resorting to politics that aimed at dividing the society.
Calling the alliance opportunist, the Union Minister said, "It's time to end the jungle raj...JDU is in alliance with those it once blamed for the jungle raj in Bihar."
