New Delhi: Opposition BJP on Monday dubbed Lt Governor Anil Baijal's address on opening day of budget session in Delhi Assembly as "disappointing and hollow", reflecting the AAP government's two years performance.
The Leader of Opposition in Assembly, Vijender Gupta, said the address had "nothing new" for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government which was "dreaming" to make Delhi look like London.
"The Kejriwal government has disastrously failed to present its vision for Delhi's future through the address of Lt Governor. It is only the summary of contents of recent publicity campaign by the government.
Gupta said it was beyond understanding how the government will make Delhi look like London in one year if it has no policy frame work for it.
He was referring to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's remark yesterday about making Delhi resemble London by ensuring cleanliness, if voted to power in the upcoming municipal polls.
"The address of the LG is highly disappointing and hollow, reflecting the government's poor performance during the last two years of its rule," he said.
Gupta also alleged that the content of the address was aimed at "boosting" government's image in view of municipal corporation elections in the city.
"The achievements described by the LG in the areas of education, health , social welfare, night shelters, water supply are nowhere near the tall promises by the government during the last two years," he added.
