Bhopal: The much-awaited expansion of Madhya Pradesh Cabinet will take place on Friday, with the induction of two or three members.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan told reporters in Gwalior that the Cabinet expansion will take place on Friday.

While Chouhan did not reveal names of the new ministers, highly placed sources said former minister Anoop Mishra, nephew of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, is likely to be inducted in the Cabinet.

Senior tribal MLA Gyan Singh may be also given Cabinet berth, they said.

Minister of State for Energy (Independent Charge) Rajendra Shukla is likely to be promoted to Cabinet rank while a woman member would also be inducted into the Council of Ministers, the sources said.

Anoop Mishra was forced to resign from the Cabinet earlier following alleged involvement of his kin in an incident at Bela village near Gwalior in which a 17-year-old youth died following a land dispute.

At present the strength of Chouhan's Cabinet is 32.
