New Delhi: Even as Samajwadi Party chief has expressed his willingness to work with the Bahujan Samaj Party, BSP chief Mayawati has rejected his proposal. Mayawati has said that there is no question of the BSP allying with anyone in Uttar Pradesh and will fight elections alone.
Maya has also hit out at Mulayam saying he has been working with the Bharatiya Janata Party. She also accused the SP of causing communal tension in the state.
"SP creates communal tension. There are always law and order problems when the SP comes to power. There's no question of joininig hands with them," Maya added.
Mulayam Singh had earlier said that RJD chief Lalu Prasad should convince Mayawati and that he himself is willing to join hands with the BSP. This came two days after Lalu Prasad said that the SP and BSP should come together to form a grand alliance to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Nitish Kumar's JDU and Lalu Prasad's RJD have joined hands to contest the by-elections in Bihar. The two held a rally on Monday in a show of strenght where Lalu had said that other regional parties should also join hands to defeat the BJP.
"Our alliance sent a good message to everyone. I appeal to Mulayam Singh and Mayawati to enter a maha-alliance too," he had said.
