Members of the 16th Lok Sabha to be sworn in by Pro-tem Speaker today
President Pranab Mukherjee will address a joint sitting of Parliament on June 9 and the week-long session will end on June 11.

New Delhi: New Delhi: The newly-elected members of the 16th Lok Sabha will be administered oath by Pro-tem Speaker Kamal Nath on Thursday.

The senior Congress leader was sworn in as the Pro-tem Speaker on Wednesday by President Pranab Mukherjee. The Speaker will be elected on June 6 and Sumitra Mahajan, senior BJP leader and one of the most experienced Parliamentarians, looks set to take the post.

The week-long first session of the 16th Lok Sabha started on Wednesday on a sombre note with the House paying homage to Union Minister Gopinath Munde who died in a road accident on Tuesday. The House adjourned for the day after paying homage to the departed leader.
