Bhopal: Days after Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh and his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath asked their ministers from mounting red beacons on their government vehicles, union minister Uma Bharti has supported the usage of the privileged beacons.

“As far as I am concerned, any minister moving around for official work, should use red beacon on their vehicles,” said the Bharatiya Janata Party firebrand leader who was in the state capital for attending cultural functions.

The former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti, who was seen with the incumbent CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan after a long time said, even if a flight gets delayed waiting for a minister is justified. She, however, added in the same breath cautioned against usage of red beacon if any minister is roaming around attending personal functions.

The statement stirred political circles as three of Shivraj ministers –Vishwas Sarang, Gaurishankar Shejwar and Jaibhan Singh Pavaiya, echoed similar sentiments as Bharti. Bharti even termed Yogi Adityanath as the most suitable candidate for chief minister’s post in UP.

There are 30-40 Muslim traders where yogi heads a religious organisation in Gorakhpur, If Muslims are not apprehensive there, so why the community should feel insecure elsewhere in UP, she said.
