Papers relating to President rule in Arunachal Pradesh tabled in Lok Sabha

New Delhi: A copy of the proclamation imposing President's Rule in Arunachal Pradesh and another revoking it were tabled in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

The papers were laid in the Lower House which met briefly after the President's address to the joint sitting of the two Houses on the opening day of the Budget session.

The Lok Sabha met for about 30 minutes when the Secretary General laid a copy of the President's address to enable the House initiate a discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the President likely from tomorrow.

The government also tabled a copy of the Ordinance to amend the Enemy Property Act promulgated on January 7. The members also condoled the demise of former Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, former Speaker Balram Jakhar and former members Noorul Huda and Shanti Devi.

The House also condoled the demise of former member and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed.

Terming the attack on the Pathankot air base as a "cowardly act", Speaker Sumitra Mahajan led the House in paying tributes to the security personnel killed in the incident.

The House also condoled the demise of personnel in the avalanche which struck an army post in Siachen recently.
