Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday sacked his uncle Shivpal Yadav from the state cabinet along with three other ministers in what could be seen as an escalation in the war between two factions within the first family of the Samajwadi Party.

Here is a brief profile of the four ministers who have been shown the door by the young CM.

Shivpal Singh Yadav: Shivpal Singh held the Public works Department (PWD) portfolio till he was sacked on Sunday. Earlier, in the initial stages, Shivpal Yadav had resigned after being stripped of his portfolios by Akhilesh, but was reinstated on September 16 following a patch up between the two Samajwadi Party stalwarts.

Currently, Shivpal is holding the post of president of UP Samajwadi party.

Narad Rai: He was serving as Cabinet Minister holding the charge of Science and Technology Ministry. He courted controversy in 2013 over his remarks about deaths at relief camps after Muzaffarnagar riots. He is an MLA from Ballia Nagar constituency in Ballia district.
