New Delhi: US Senator John McCain called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday and conveyed the keen desire of the United States to work with him to revitalise the India-US ties. PM Modi said that he is hopeful of a forward looking, result-oriented visit to the US in September 2014 to take the relationship to a new level.
The Prime Minister also expressed concern over the increased threat of terrorism across the world. The situation in Iraq and Afghanistan was also discussed.
John McCain, who is in India on a two-day visit, had earlier told CNN-IBN that reports of the Bharatiya Janata Party being spied upon by the National Security Agency is embarrassing. Speaking to CNN-IBN, he also admitted that there is a need for more judicial and congressional supervision of the US surveillance program.
