New Delhi: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi refused to comment on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech in Lok Sabha and said it is for the people to decide. Modi on Thursday gave a point to point rebuttal to Rahul while invoking former prime ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv in his speech.
"'Aapne mujhe bhi sunaa, aapne PM ko bhi sunaa' (You heard me, you heard the Prime Minister. You know better," said Rahul.
Modi's speech came a day after Rahul made a scathing criticism of the NDA government's policies and said, "The Prime Minister cannot run country only on his opinions. The country is not PM and PM is not the country."
Echoing the sentiments of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley about Rahul in his blog, Modi said some people don't mature with age. Taking a dig at Rahul, the Prime Minister said, "Some people just age but do not mature, they protest just for the sake of protesting and do not understand issues."
Attacking Modi, senior Congress MP Mallikarjun Kharge said, "The Prime Minister speech is extremely disappointing. On one hand he talks of Opposition co-operations and on the other hand he mocks us and belittles our achievement."
Criticising the Congress for mocking the 'Make in India' initiative, Modi said, "How can you mock 'Make in India' initiative? This is for the nation. If there are shortcomings they should be discussed."
The Congress vice president had said, "Modiji has created a 'babbar sher' (Asiatic Lion) in which clock and wheels are seen moving but where are jobs."
