The bypolls to the wards falling under three corporations- SDMC (7), NDMC (4) and EDMC (2)- were necessitated due to their sitting councillors getting elected to Delhi Assembly in 2013 and 2015.

The 13 wards going to bypolls are -- Quamruddin Nagar, Shalimar Bagh (North), Ballimaran, Nawada, Vikas Nagar, Matiala, Nanakpura, Munirka, Bhati, Tehkhand, Khichripur, Jhilmil and Wazirpur.

Tejaswi drew support from his father and RJD president Lalu Prasad who hit out at BJP for "misinterpreting" the comment.

He also said that BJP MP Subramanian Swamy has not lied about the deal but it seems he has been misled.

The two parties have entered into a poll alliance for the May 16 assembly elections in the state.

Unfazed by the allegations, Yeddyurappa said that he is bothered about the case.

"There are just four days left and by the time any change in the notification is effected, the scheme will itself end," Rai said after a meeting with Vice President Hamid Ansari.

Citing an IIT-Kanpur study, he said the pollution from cars was a mere five per cent and the Delhi government had failed to address other issues which contribute to the remaining 95 per cent of pollution.

'Time will decide the issue of leadership' and if a person is destined to become PM, he will become one 'whether you name him or not', Nitish said.

The court said that proclamation dated March 27 stands quashed and status quo as on the date of the proclamation will be restored.
