Yatra 2 is one of the most anticipated films of the Telugu film industry. It is a biographical political drama film that is centred around the padayatra of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy from 2017 to 2019. Yatra 2 is written and directed by Mahi V Raghav. Tamil actor Jiiva will be playing the role of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the film. Mahesh Manjrekar will don the character of Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The movie is slated to release in theatres worldwide on February 8.
The makers released the teaser, a few weeks ago. This created a buzz in the entertainment industry. Ever since the teaser was revealed, many fans started speculating about the roles of Pawan Kalyan, Sharmila and Nara Lokesh in the film as they were present during the political picture when YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was on the rise. The director, Mahi V Raghav has now quashed these doubts.
According to media reports, it is believed that the movie will have no inclusion of Pawan Kalyan, Sharmila and Nara Lokesh. As per the report of OTTPlay–a news and entertainment website, director Mahi V Raghav is quite clear about his vision of showcasing Yatra 2 only about the journey of YS Jagan. He doesn’t want to deviate from the core point of the story which he wants to show by involving such characters. The director feels that adding multiple characters can dilute the plot. The film already comprises veteran political figures such as Sonia Gandhi, Chandrababu Naidu and YS Rajasekhara Reddy (played by Mammootty).
Yatra 2 is the sequel of the film Yatra which was released in 2019. Mammootty played the lead role in this film. He played the character of YS Rajasekhara Reddy in the film. It was also written and directed by Mahi V Raghav.
