Ram Pothineni-starrer Skanda To Have Its World TV Premiere On January 21: Report

Ram Pothineni-starrer Skanda: The Attacker, directed by Boyapati Sreenu, was released in theatres on September 28 last year. The movie was a mass-action entertainer and received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. Skanda: Now this pan-Indian mass entertainer that impressed audiences is currently making buzz on the internet once again. According to the latest report, Skanda: The Attacker has locked in its world television premiere. The film is said to premiere on Star Maa on January 21, 2024, at 05:30 PM. Skanda: The Attacker is a Telugu-language action film backed by Srinivasaa Chitturi under the banner of Srinivasaa Silver Screen in collaboration with Zee Studios.

The film features Ram Pothineni in a dual role, alongside Sreeleela, Saiee Manjrekar, Srikanth, Sharath Lohithaswa, Ajay Purkar, Daggubati Raja, and Prince Cecil in the pivotal roles. Urvashi Rautela also appears in a dance sequence in the movie as well. The music for the film has been scored by S Thaman.

The movie was set around Ram Pothineni’s character. He was seen in a dual role. In the beginning, Ram Pothineni’s characters kidnap the daughters of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana’s Chief Ministers. Later, the main reason is revealed, where it is shown that he indulged in this activity to provide justice to his father’s friend – who is given the death penalty for a falsely accused case. By the end of the film, it also hints at a possible sequel.

The film was officially announced in February 2022 under the tentative title BoyapatiRAPO. The official title Skanda was announced in July 2023, and the principal photography began in October 2022 and was wrapped in August 2023. The cinematography and editing of the movie were handled by Santosh Detake and Tammiraju, respectively.

Before Skanda, Ram Pothineni was seen in the action film The Warriorr. It was directed by N Lingusamy and produced by Srinivasa Chitturi under the banner Srinivasa Silver Screen. The film also featured Aadhi Pinisetty, Krithi Shetty (in her Tamil debut), Akshara Gowda, and Nadhiya in the pivotal roles. The music for the film was composed by Devi Sri Prasad, while the cinematography and editing were handled by Sujith Vaassudev and Naveen Nooli.
