Most of us would agree that Apple’s current iPad lineup can be confusing for buyers, not giving them enough reasons to upgrade or consider picking the budget model.
The company has even seen the demand for iPads come down, which clearly reflects in its recent financial data for the device. But Apple is ready to push the levels in 2024 and ensure the iPads have a clear identity, starting from the base iPad and going up to the iPad Pro variants.
The company is gearing up for a Spring 2024 launch event as per reports, where we could see the all-new iPad Air and Pro models, along with more M3-powered Macs.
But all eyes will be on the new iPads, which are expected to get a major overhaul to help people make an easy decision to pick their next iPad. The base iPads will continue to serve those who are trying out iPads for the first time, and now, they will only have the USB-C option available, instead of two different base iPads.
Similarly, the iPad Air lineup will have the M2-powered processor, which means the end of the A14 bionic model from the market. Apple wants to dish out the M2 chipset for the iPad Air, which is likely to be offered in 10.9-inch and a new 12.9-inch screen sizes.
The biggest upgrades will be given to the new iPad Pros that will come equipped with M3 chipset, and a new 13-inch model added to the portfolio. That’s not all, expect the iPad Pros to feature an OLED display which should push the price levers of the iPad lineup once again.
Keeping the iPad lineup lean is paramount for Apple to help buyers choose the ideal iPad model for their use and budget. Having two iPads in the same price range hasn’t helped the company’s cause for the last few years but the new plan seems more feasible and hopefully buyers will see it that way.
