The Black Shark 4 gaming smartphones will officially launch on March 23, the company announced in a post on Weibo. The launch event will take place at 3:00 PM GMT+8 (8:30 PM IST) and the new gaming device would compete against the newly launched Asus ROG Phone 5 and Nubia Red Magic 6. The new series is said to include Black Shark 4 Pro that will reportedly carry a 108-megapixel camera. It appears that the next Black Shark 4 series will be limited to the China market.
According to GizmoChina, the Pro model was reportedly spotted on Google Play Console, TENAA, and 3C listings with the model number KRS-A0. The phone is tipped to pack the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. It will be interesting to see whether one of the models would carry 18GB of RAM to rival against Asus ROG Phone 5 and Nubia Red Magic 6 that offer the same RAM configuration. The report adds that the vanilla Black Shark 4 has also appeared on other certification sites, tipping some of its key specs. The rumour mill claims that the phone would include a 144Hz display with Full-HD+ resolution. Notably, the Pro model is said to come with a Quad-HD+ display.
Both Black Shark 4 and Black Shark 4 Pro will reportedly carry a triple camera system. The vanilla model is said to pack a 48-megapixel or a 64-megapixel main camera. Other details remain unclear.
Similarly, the Black Shark 3 series from last year includes a regular model and Black Shark 3 Pro, featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. The two phones also came with a triple rear camera setup and a 20-megapixel front camera. The Black Shark 3 Pro came with a gigantic 7.1-inch screen and up to 12GB of RAM. The phones never arrived in the Indian market.
Interestingly, OnePlus will also launch the next-gen OnePlus 9 series on March 23.
