New Delhi: Expanding its wearable portfolio, Samsung has introduced a new fitness tracker. Named Gear Fit2, the tracker includes GPS and a heart rate monitor (HRM) that are said to offer "accurate" fitness data, while providing feedback on the user's workout.
The Samsung Gear Fit 2 features a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen. "The display interfaces are easy to understand and simple to navigate," says Samsung.
Other specifications include 512 MB RAM, 4GB storage, and a 200 mAh battery.
The fitness device is compatible with Galaxy devices running Android 4.3 and above, and non-Galaxy devices running Android 4.4 and above. But the smartphones need to have a mimimum of 1.5 GB of RAM.
The Gear Fit2 fitness band also comes with the Auto Activity Tracking feature, which means users won't have to manually activate the sports band - whether running, walking, cycling, or utilising rowing machine or elliptical trainer.
It also includes a standalone music player. The device is also compatible with Spotify.
The Gear Fit2 will be available beginning June 10.
