Apple unveiled the new iPhone 16 series globally at its annual ‘It’s Glowtime’ event on Monday, September 9. The new lineup has four variants: the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The iPhone 16 is the company's first phone designed for generative AI that allows users to create text and images with natural-language prompts. The newly launched devices will soon be available for pre-order and purchase through Flipkart, Amazon, Apple Store and other channels.
With the launch of the latest lineup of the company’s flagship device, purchasing an older iPhone model may be imprudent. Those who have recently purchased the iPhone 15 may be eligible for a partial refund, but there are some conditions to consider.
As per Apple’s retail India sales policy, customers who have bought an iPhone model in India are entitled to a refund if Apple lowers the price within 14 calendar days after purchase. This means that if you purchased an iPhone 15 within the last two weeks and Apple drops the device’s price after the iPhone 16 launch, you may claim a refund for the difference.
Customers can seek this refund by going to an Apple Store or calling the Apple Contact Centre at 000800 040 1966.
This refund policy, part of Apple’s price protection plan, allows customers to request refunds for up to ten units of a single model. As a result, a client who owns up to ten iPhone 15 units which includes family as well may request a partial refund for each unit. Access to this price protection requires proof of purchase.
The iPhone 16 is priced at Rs 79,900 in the country, while the iPhone 16 Plus will cost Rs 89,900. The iPhone 16 Pro starts at Rs 1,19,900 and the most expensive of the lot, the iPhone 16 Pro Max, will cost you Rs 1,44,900 in the Indian market. These prices for the iPhone 16 Pro models in India are Rs 15,000 cheaper than the launch price of the 15 Pro models in the country last year.
