Microsoft Facing Windows 10 Glitch After Free Activation Key Was Blocked: What It Means
Microsoft offered free Windows 11 upgrade for many PC users but the company has blocked the keys which allowed that update.

Microsoft pulled the plug on Windows 7 and 8 activation keys recently which has irked many consumers but now another problem has come up which affects existing Windows 10 and 11 users.

The company decided to block the keys of Windows 7 and 8 version that allowed people to get a free upgrade to Windows 10 or 11 for their PCs. It is happening when people have already upgraded to the latest Windows version but for some reason they have changed the hardware in their PC to optimise its performance. In fact, there people are being pushed to buy a new activation key to upgrade to the Windows 11 version.

So, why is this happening? Nobody knows and reports claim that Microsoft is looking into the matter and will surely provide some kind of assistance to its customers who have seen their Windows account/key blocked.

As per the policies of Microsoft, changing the hardware of your PC doesn’t make you ineligible for free upgrade, so we’re hoping that the company is able to fix this glitch at the earliest or people might feel restricted to upgrade their PCs hardware which is one of the reasons why people buy a Windows machine.

The company has been quoted in reports saying that people who are facing the issue with activating the keys after the hardware changes should connect with the customer support and seek a solution for the problem.

Activating the key is essential to register your system with the Microsoft database and if the key is not accepted, the Windows version running on your system is rendered invalid.

We’re not sure what prompted Microsoft to make this change now, but in some ways, it is likely that the company is now satisfied with the Windows 11 upgrade cycle for old PCs and now prefers to make money from its licensed operating system for old compatible devices.

What's your reaction?
