The Samsung Galaxy M32 has finally launched in India after being a part of the rumour mill for quite some time. As the name suggests, the new Samsung smartphone succeeds the Galaxy M31 from February last year. In terms of design, the Galaxy M32 is quite different from Galaxy M31 with a pattern finish on the back, and a square-shaped camera module. It continues to retain the waterdrop-style notch for the single selfie camera. Another notable difference is the presence of a side-mounted fingerprint scanner instead of a rear-mounted scanner. The phone continues to carry a quad rear camera system.
In terms of specifications, the Samsung Galaxy M32 sports a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with Full-HD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate and an Infinity-U display – the company speak for a waterdrop-style notch. The smartphone measures 160x74x9mm and weighs 196 grams, which is slightly thicker and heavier than the Galaxy M31 at 8.9mm and 191 grams, respectively. Under the hood, the Galaxy M32 carries the octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 processor paired with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage options. The onboard storage is expandable up to 1TB with a microSD card slot. The Galaxy M32 runs Android 11 OS with One UI 3.1 on top out-of-the-box. As for the cameras, the phone’s quad rear camera setup houses a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with 123-degrees field-of-view (FoV), a 2-megapixel macro shooter, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. At the front, there is a 20-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. The camera app also allows users to create their own filters, based on the settings and their preference.
Other notable features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Samsung Galaxy M32 houses a large 6,000mAh battery that supports 15W charging via USB Type-C. The company claims the battery can deliver up to 130 hours of music playback and 40 hours of talk time. Its price in India starts at Rs 14,999 for the base 4GB + 64GB storage variant and the 6GB + 128GB storage option costs Rs 16,999. It will be available in Black and Blue colours starting June 28 via Amazon and Samsung channels.
