New Delhi: Snapchat, a photo-sharing app that auto-destructs the content after a specific duration, is finally adding two-factor authentication to its login process to make the service more secure.
The new addition sends a text with a verification message to your registered mobile number each time you log in through a new device.
You can enable the two-factor authentication feature by simply going to the settings panel and selecting the login verification mode.
A report on Gizmodo notes that the newest addition is a part of a broader drive towards making Snapchat a more secure photo-sharing platform. The company also introduced a bug bounty program, and hired Google’s social network security guru to fix its long-standing security problems.
The app’s latest version 9.9 also comes with the ability to double-tap to change cameras mid-Snap, and special battery filters.
