Sonos Debuts Its First-Ever Wireless Headphones With ANC To Rival The AirPods Max
Sonos has launched its headphone range that offers premium sound quality and rivals brands like Apple AirPods Max in the market.

Sonos is known for its premium audio products and now it is making a significant move by entering the headphones segment. Sonos is about to release its first pair of wireless headphones called the Sonos Ace. The new pair of cans are expected to compete with similar premium offerings from Apple, Bose and Sony among others.

The headphones will come with all the fundamental features found in other excellent headphones, such as Bluetooth compatibility and noise cancellation, as well as a few cool bonuses aimed at movie buffs with tech such as Dolby head tracking and easy switching between Sonos sound bars.

Sonos Ace Headphones: Features, Price And Other Details

The Sonos Ace is loaded with all of the essential features that we've come to expect from a set of flagship wireless headphones. They have an over-ear style and each ear cup houses a bespoke 40mm dynamic audio driver.

Active noise cancellation with eight microphones is incorporated, as well as an Aware mode that allows you to hear your environment when you want to.

The Sonos Ace is compatible with the apt-X codec on Android devices for greater quality transmission and supports Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless playback. To receive complete lossless audio, you can also use a connected connection using the 3.5mm to USB-C connector that is included.

Meanwhile, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Tidal and Deezer all support the Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 Reality spatial audio codecs. These formats generate a 3D soundstage for music and movies by utilising object-based mixing. The Ace also supports optional Dolby Head Tracking technology, which maps playback to head movements as if you were in the middle of a surround sound system. Sonos says you can use the headphones with Android or Apple devices.

Works With Sonos Audio Range

One of the most interesting features described for the Sonos Ace is the ability to smoothly switch audio playback between the headphones and a Sonos Arc soundbar. By touching a button, you may switch from listening to films and TV shows through a Sonos Arc in a home theatre setting to a private listening mode, which is ideal for not disturbing others. Sonos claims that the Ace can last up to 30 hours and that it supports a quick-charge technology that can deliver three hours of battery life in three minutes of charging.

The Sonos Ace is currently available for preorder online for $449 (roughly Rs 37,000). You can pick up the Sonos headphones in white or black colours. Sonos will start shipping the product from early June onwards.
