Xiaomi has announced the launch of a new smartphone in India on January 5, 2021, that packs a 108-megapixel primary camera. The exact moniker details remain unclear, though the teaser suggests that phone in question is Mi 10i that was spotted on Google Play Console listing earlier this month. Previously, reports have suggested that the Mi 10i is a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G which the Chinese tech company unveiled in China last month. A Xiaomi official has confirmed the development of Mi 10i, but added that the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G was itself rebranded from Mi 10T Lite, while the Mi 10i will be an all-new phone. The official still has not clarified whether the phone would launch on January 5 next year. More details from Xiaomi over its upcoming phone are expected soon.
The teaser clearly highlights that the smartphone packs a quad rear camera setup that includes a 108-megapixel primary camera. The promotional poster also emphasises the letter ?i?, along with the hashtag ?perfect 10,? therefore indicating that the phone is a part of the Mi 10 family. Currently, Xiaomi already offers a bunch of smartphones under the Mi 10 family such as the vanilla Mi 10, Mi 10T, and Mi 10T Pro. Earlier today, the company also confirmed that it will unveil the new Mi 11 series on December 28 in China.

The teaser also suggests that the Xiaomi phone will pack quad rear cameras in round-shape module. The company with its Mi 10 series introduced a large 6.67-inch full-HD display with 120Hz refresh rate, therefore we can expect the Mi 10i to sport a similar screen. Other notable features of the Mi 10 lineup include fast charging support, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g, NFC, and USB Type-C port. Currently, several details of the smartphone remains unclear and more information from the company is expected in the coming days.
