Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Nitish Bhaluni AKA Tapu Earns More Than Bhavya Gandhi?

The beloved television show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has constantly been among the top-rated ones in the country. At its peak, TMKOC garnered over 10 million views per episode, becoming one of the longest-running and most-watched shows in India. Over the years, TMKOC has, however, gone through a lot of changes, including the exit of some major actors and the introduction of new faces. One of the notable changes was seen in the character of Tapu, aka Tipendra Gada.

Originally played by Bhavya Gandhi for years, he was later replaced by Raj Anadkat and then finally by Nitish Bhaluni, who is currently a part of the show. Gandhi, who was a part of TMKOC since its inception, received a lot of love for his portrayal of the character. Not just that, earning a reported sum of Rs 10,000 per episode, he also became the highest-paid child performer at the time.

But his stint with the show ended in 2017 when he decided to leave for future opportunities, leaving fans dissatisfied. Raj Anadkat took over his role for a brief period and managed to bring a unique change to the character. Anadkat also received love and support from fans and reportedly used to earn Rs 20,000 per episode, twice as much as Bhavya Gandhi received, states an ETimes report.

Similarly, he too left the show in 2022 amid rumours of unpaid dues and conflict with the production. It was finally in 2023 that Nitish Bhaluni was introduced as the new Tapu. According to the report, he earns the same as his predecessor, Raj Anadkat.

Following a new narrative with new performers alongside veterans at present, TMKOC shows ‘Tapu’ and his ‘sena’ as college-goers while the chaos in their Gokuldham society still remains the same.

New Actors In TMKOC

Notably, this is not the only character that has seen changes. A few more prominent characters of Tarak Mehta (Shailesh Lodha), Roshan Sodhi (Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal), Roshan Singh Sodhi (Gurucharan Singh), Anjali Mehta (Neha Mehta), Sonu Bhide (Nidhi Bhanushali), and Daya Gada (Disha Vakani), among others, have exited the show, allowing new faces to replace their parts.

However, Disha Vakani, who has been away since her maternity leave, is yet to return. Makers are also making efforts to find a replacement, but nothing seems to have been finalised yet.
