A 13-year-old Indian-origin lad has sparked chatter on the internet by meeting Apple CEO Tim Cook. With Apple commencing its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), anticipation is high for exciting launches this year. Amid the flurry of visuals circulating from the event, one picture has grabbed significant attention. Shaurya Gupta, the young boy, left everyone astonished as he shared a selfie with Cook. Taking to his social media handle, Shaurya posted the picture with a simple caption, “Mission Completed #WWDC24.”

While he didn’t share much detail about his participation in the event or meeting with the Apple CEO, the post instantly went viral and drew several reactions. A user wrote, “Tim Cook seems to be a really genuinely nice guy,” while another commented, “Nice picture, he will never forget today, Thank you Mr. Cook. Nice.”

Many also extended congratulations to Shaurya for his chance encounter with Tim Cook. His tweet has amassed over 2 lakh views and received more than 6,000 likes so far. Additionally, Gupta shared several other snapshots from the event, showcasing his meetings with other prominent figures. He can be seen posing alongside American YouTuber Marques Brownlee, Swift programming author Paul Hudson and Apple VP Susan Prescott.

According to his X profile, Shaurya won the Swift Student Challenge 2024.

Earlier, Tim Cook’s meeting with 22-year-old Akshat Srivastava also got the internet talking. One of the winners of the Swift Student Challenge this year, Akshat Srivastava, was selected for his submission, MindBud.

Speaking about the Indian coder, Tim Cook said, “I met so many extraordinary developers when I visited India last year, and I saw so much excitement for the many ways that technology can enrich people’s lives. And it was equally wonderful to meet Akshat this week and see how he’s created a whole new way to share his love of classic games with the next generation.”

Mentioning that Akshat Srivastava is a part of India’s growing generation of coders who are making an important impact, Tim Cook added that he was amazed by his “creativity and determination.”

One of the company’s biggest annual developer events, the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), commenced on June 10 and will conclude on June 14. As of now, Apple has introduced some major updates and releases, including integrated ChatGPT across iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and the new macOS Sequoia.

The company has also released the latest version of Siri.
