Arshad Warsi is Better Than Prabhas: Movie Fans Engage in Social Media War After Viral Interview

‘Arshad Warsi versus Prabhas: Who’s better?’ is a popular topic of discussion on social media right now after the former called the latter “joker”. In an interview with Samdish Bhatia, Warsi was asked to name a bad movie he had recently watched, and he didn’t hold back, giving a brutally honest review of the film Kalki 2898 AD. While he praised Amitabh Bachchan’s performance, he criticised Prabhas, calling him a “joker”.

What Warsi said about Kalki 2898 AD and Prabhas?

“Maine Kalki dekhi to mujhe toh nhi acchi lagi. Mujhe bahut takleef hoti hai jab… [I watched Kalki. Didn’t like it. It hurts me when] Amit ji was [mind-blown sounds] unbelievable. I can’t understand that man. I swear if we got the power he has, life ban jaae [our lives would be set]. He’s unreal,” Warsi said.

He also added, “Prabhas, I am really sad, why was he… he was like a joker. Why? I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyu karte ho aisa mujhe nahi samajh mein aata [What have you made of it? Why do they do such things I never understand].”

Soon, Warsi’s commment on Prabhas went viral, and a section of the Internet echoed his words after watching the film of the actor who predominantly works in Telugu cinema. Many even came out in support of Prabhas, including Nani.

What did Nani say about Warsi, and why did he later regret his choice of words?

During an event for his latest film, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, Nani was asked about Arshad Warsi’s comments, where he said, “The person that you’re referring to, this must be the most publicity he has got in his life. You are unnecessarily glorifying an unimportant matter.”

However, he soon regretted his comment, saying that his “choice of words was poor”. Nani said, “When it’s about a person you really love, you immediately react and say, ‘Why are you giving so much importance to an unimportant matter?’ But after seeing a lot of reactions on social media, I went back and watched the whole thing in its entirety. So, now I understand it. The whole thing has been blown out of proportion through media and social media. And even my reaction has been blown out of proportion.”

He praised Arshad and added, “Arshad Warsi ji is a very good actor, and we all loved him in Munna Bhai, not just north or south, but the whole of India. It’s a household movie. When we sit with our friends in our homes, we can rip films and actors apart. But being actors, we need to be extra careful with our choice of words. So, in that way, him and me, both are victims… Definitely, my choice of words was also poor. The biggest thing that you can do is accept your regret… Also, who are we to correct? But somebody asked us about our opinion and we reacted to it.”

Movie fans engage in social media war

“Neither Prabhas nor Nani can compete #ArshadWarsi in acting skills and dialogue delivery. That’s easy to understand. This two minute Arshad’s monologue in Jolly LLB is more impactful and superior than whole career of Nani,” wrote an indiviudal while sharing a short clip from the movie.

“This should be a common knowledge! Arshad Warsi > Nani’s entire filmography,” declared another fan of Warsi.

“I think Arshad Warsi has been spot on with his comment. It’s also a clear scenario for people who think Kalki 2898 AD was the Prabhas‌ led movie, no it’s not,” expressed a third.
