Bengaluru Man Admits 'Own Space' Isn't Enough To Ignore 'Loneliness Of Living Alone'
The man has branded Bengaluru as “an amazing city” but has also mentioned, “It feels like the more people there are around you, the lonelier it gets.”

Living away from home and family is no doubt challenging. In some scenarios, it may make you feel a sense of freedom but the additional responsibilities are undeniable. Recently, a man referred to a similar experience of staying alone in the city of Bengaluru via a Reddit post. The 27-year-old who recognises himself as a “corporate mazdoor” (corporate slave) on the platform, admitted the peace of having his “own space” while also shedding light on the feeling of loneliness. The post, titled “The loneliness and hustle of living alone in Bangalore”, seemed relatable to many people, who have also gone through the same phase.

The man has acknowledged the fact that living away from home has made him more self-sufficient. Apart from focusing on his career, he also needs to take care of household chores like cooking and cleaning. However, at the end of the day, the silence inside his home sometimes makes him melancholic.

“There’s a certain freedom that comes with having your own space. I get to cook my meals, watch whatever I want, and organise my place just the way I like it (minimalism, anyone?). But on the other hand, there’s a deep sense of loneliness that creeps in, especially when all you hear is the hum of the city outside and the silence inside your home,” the Redditor wrote in his post.

The person further highlighted the happiness of being “your own chef, cleaner and entertainer.” “There are days when I feel accomplished, like when I whip up a decent meal after a long day, or when I finally check off all those tasks on my to-do list,” he added.

The man may have branded Bengaluru as “an amazing city” but has also mentioned, “It feels like the more people there are around you, the lonelier it gets.” Before signing off, he urged his fellow Redditors to offer some suggestions about how to “cope with the loneliness while balancing the constant hustle.”

Many users have responded to the post and shared their thoughts in the comment section. One of them admitted, “It’s the worst for singles who don’t have many friends and introverted types of guys.” A youngster advised the Bengaluru-based man to try out “bike rides” to freshen up his mind.

Another person suggested, “I would say get a purpose and be busy pursuing it. It can be switching to a different company or maybe doing something on your own.” The Reddit post has amassed more than 600 upvotes since being dropped on the platform.
