Recently, an intriguing detail surfaced online showing a link between their ancestors’ political ties. As per the X post, Shah Rukh’s father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, ran for a Lok Sabha seat from Gurgaon in 1957. In an interesting turn of events, his opponent was none other than Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, a prominent political figure and Aamir’s great-granduncle.

As per Amar Ujala reports, during the 1957 Lok Sabha election, only three candidates were running for the Gurgaon seat, Azad from Congress, Mool Chand from the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and Khan as an independent candidate. Despite his previous association with Congress, Khan contested against the party. However, Khan was badly defeated, as he received 0 votes. Azad, on the other hand, won with 191,221 votes and Mool Chand received 95,553 votes.

The surprising fact about Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan breaking the internet after Pop Base asked fans to share their favourite celebrity trivia. To this, an X user wrote, “Shah Rukh Khan’s father contested Lok Sabha Elections in 1957 from Gurgaon against Abul Kalam Azad the great grand uncle of Aamir Khan.”
