‘He Is God’s Problem Now’: US Man’s Humorous Obituary For His Father Goes Viral
After Robert Boehm passed away on October 6, his son Charles Boehm remembered his father most unusually and humorously.

Obituaries often evoke tears, but some can also leave you rolling on the floor laughing. An obituary for a 74-year-old American man who died after falling and hurting his head has gone viral because of its hilarious nature. It ended with his son informing the world that he is “God’s problem now." The unconventional obituary has won the hearts of many social media users who are calling it the ‘Best Obituary’ ever.

After his father Robert Boehm passed away on October 6, his 41-year-old son, Charles Boehm, remembered his dad in the most unusual and humorous ways. Robert revealed his father’s genuine identity to the world. However, he made it clear that it wasn’t done disrespectfully. Rather, it was a sincere tribute to the man who had raised him and a chance for the residents of the little Texas town of Clarendon to share a laugh with their beloved neighbour, one last time.

“Robert Adolph Boehm, in accordance with his lifelong dedication to his own personal brand of decorum, muttered his last unintelligible and likely unnecessary curse on October 6, 2024, shortly before tripping backward over ‘some stupid thing’ and hitting his head on the floor," the obituary read, according to a Facebook post.

In the obituary, Charles provided a thorough biography of his father. He said that “God immediately and thankfully broke the mold and attempted to cover up the evidence" regarding his father’s birth in 1950. He also joked about his mother becoming pregnant three times in five years thanks to his Catholic father, which kept him from getting drafted to fight in Vietnam.

Charles also remembered that his father, a “semi-professional truck driver," had a fondness for collecting harmonicas and vintage firearms. This drove “his beloved dogs to howl continuously at odd hours of the night to entertain his many neighbours, and occasionally to give to his many, many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren to play loudly during long road trips with their parents," said the son.

Furthermore, Charles said that his mother and Robert’s wife, Dianne, had died in February. The loss was playfully presented as “God finally showed mercy upon" her so that she could get “the heck out of there for some well-earned peace," according to the son. “We have all done our best to enjoy/weather Robert’s antics up to this point, but he is God’s problem now," the obituary ended.

Social media users showered love on the humorous obituary. Reacting to it, a user wrote, “What a wonderful obituary – Charles Boehm has a great way with words! It sure sounds like Mr. Robert Boehm was a genuine and fun person."

Another noted, “Best obituary I’ve ever read! Thanks for your *almost* service Sir!"

Another impressed person said, “I truly wish more obituaries were written like this, telling the story of someone’s life while making it truly a reflection of them."
