People love visiting fairs and local festivals as they get to witness things they have never seen before. A fair is being held in Bihar’s Barhampur village, where they have brought a horse from Australia. This horse is currently the talk of the town. This Barhampur fair is popularly known as the Falguni mela, and is held for 15 days. As per more information, this is mainly an animal fair where the keepers bring various animals like donkeys, various breeds of horses, and mules. A while ago, they also used to bring animals like elephants, cows and bulls as well. At the moment, the Australian horse has enraptured the locals with its unique features, attracting a lot of attention. The horse is named Chetak, and it was brought from Australia by W Rai and Chhotu Baba, who belong to the Samrat No 1 Farm. They brought this majestic animal through a boat, about a month ago. One of the unique things about this Australian horse is that its food and accommodation is very different from the other horses.
The animal stands at a height of 6 to 7 feet and is 3-years-old. Its diet includes almonds, pistachios and coarse grains. It belongs to a line breed of horses called the Thoroughbred. The owners of this horse, Chhotu Baba talked to News18 exclusively, revealing that they have spent a whopping Rs 22 lakh to bring this horse from Australia. According to him, around 5 to 6 people are always present in the farm to take care of him. He stated further that they do not aim to sell this horse, it is only here for the people to see.
Rakesh Mahto, a representative of the Nagar Panchayat, talked about the fair’s beginning. He said that this fair started during the Mughal era, as it was the time when animals were used for transportation. People visit the fair from across the country.
