Man Attacking Elderly Person Gets A Hard-Hitting Lesson; Watch

A video of a young man hitting an elderly person and then getting confronted for his bad behaviour is getting likes on X. The undated video shows a man punching a white-haired man on his head. Seconds later, another person confronts the assaulter and throws a punch at him. The assaulter falls to the ground. The two then get into a fight but people intervene and break up the argument from escalating. It appears that this footage was taken on the CCTV camera of a gas station but the exact time and place of the occurrence is unclear. It gathered over two lakh views and hundreds of likes on X, ever since it was posted on January 19.

Commenting on this clip, an X user wrote, “If you see someone in need of help, don’t hesitate to lend a hand. Together, we can make the world a little brighter and a little less scary for everyone.”

Another person wrote, “Like I said, everyone wants to stand and watch as a victim is being assaulted. But the moment someone steps in to defend the victim, everyone wants to protect the assailant.” The third said, “So he was feeling very strong when he was harassing the old man. Now he can’t even throw a punch back.”

In another incident that took place in September last year, a 16-year-old’s quick thinking saved an elderly man’s life. The teenager was interning at a restaurant when he noticed that an old man was choking on his food. Initially, the teenager tried to dislodge the obstructed food by slapping the old man’s back firmly, but when this did not work, he went to successfully perform the Heimlich maneuver which saved the man’s life. The Heimlich maneuver is a first aid procedure used when a person is choking. Interestingly, the teenager had learned this life saving maneuver from social media. The teen’s smart and heroic effort was captured on the restaurant’s CCTV camera.

A popular Instagram account called GoodNews Movement shared this footage online. The netizens lavished praise on the young boy’s prompt thinking. An Instagram user commented, “Thank god he didn’t just stand there and watch like the others.” Another person wrote, “Holding my breath the whole time omg!!! What an angel that young boy!!!!” Someone highlighted the importance of knowing first-aid methods and wrote, “I really wish everyone knew this manoeuvre and how to practice first Aid on top. You never know when you need it. Love this and that it had a happy ending.”
