Mother Injured While Saving Child Lost in Overcrowded Train, Harrowing Incident Raises Alarm
Viral Post: Man shares how his sister had to go through a life-threatening situation while getting on an overcrowded 3AC coach.

In a harrowing incident on the Indian Railways, a man recounted how his sister faced a life-threatening situation due to severe overcrowding in her AC-3 Tier coach. Sharing his story on ‘X’, Rachit Jain explained that his sister encountered overwhelming crowding near the coach gates, preventing her from boarding the train and leading to her child being left behind on the station platform in the confusion. However, this was just the beginning.

The ordeal began when his sister was scheduled to travel on the Gurumukhi Express from Ambala Cantt. to Moradabad, as per the PNR details shared by Jain. Highlighting her planned journey in the 3AC coach, Jain revealed, “Overcrowding near the gates prevented her from entering, and in the chaos, her child was left on the station platform. She had no choice but to risk her safety by disembarking from a moving train to retrieve her child, resulting in injuries.”

He then expressed his concerns about overcrowding at stations and on trains, further lamenting how unauthorised passengers without tickets not only overcrowd the train but also lead to a lack of basic facilities such as access to washrooms.

Railway Seva took notice of the situation and requested Jain’s phone number. “Kindly specify if any medical assistance is required,” they responded.

However, he mentioned how no one came to assist even at her destination, Moradabad station, in providing medical assistance after such a distressing incident.

In subsequent posts, he urged authorities to take urgent action by deploying railway police or ticket checkers to promptly address the chaotic situation.

Soon, the post went viral, eliciting responses from the public. “Last time, last month, I too faced such problem… And No action by any railway authority… In fact, TTE was not found in train till last stop…” shared one user. “This is the part completely ignored by railways. Many complaints of overcrowding by unreserved in AC nd sleeper coaches…” expressed another. The third comment read, “Not similar experience but 3AC is no more premium. The quality has gone down to a level similar to what non AC sleeper class used to be.”
