Founder and Chairman of Vedanta Group, Anil Agarwal, in a touching post on X, revealed about his daughter’s upbringing on the occasion of her birthday. He shared that despite being the youngest one, she was never given any special privileges. Sharing a special post for his daughter Priya Agarwal Hebbar, the entrepreneur added that he always taught his children to be fighters. The Indian billionaire and entrepreneur dropped two throwback photos with her daughter and wrote a heartfelt post.
In the first few lines of his post, he wrote, “Maine hamesha apne bachhon ko fighter banna sikhaya. I have mostly been hard on them, aur kabhi spoil nahi kiya (I have always taught my children to be fighters. I have mostly been hard on them and never spoiled them).”
The entrepreneur recalled that Priya was never given any special privileges and she used to travel by local transport regardless of having all the resources while they lived in Mayfair, London.

In his post, he added, “She has always lived a simple life, remained culturally rooted and followed the Indian value system despite growing up in different countries. She chose to move to Mumbai and work for several social causes.”
“When she wanted to start her dream project YODA (Youth Organisation in Defense of Animals) at the age of 16, she didn’t take a single rupee from me. She set it up all by herself, raised funds, and has been successfully running it. Bezubaan janwaron ke liye woh fully dedicated hai,” Anil Agarwal shared.
Elaborating further, he said that he had always seen her daughter working “really hard” and taking more and more responsibility in the core businesses. She has always surprised him with her grit, determination and vision, he added. The proud father concluded his post by saying, “I know I don’t say this enough, but Priya, you make me really proud. Keep chasing your dreams. I will always have your back.” He also posted.
Priya Agarwal Hebbar is the Chairperson of Hindustan Zinc Limited and the founder of TACO, an animal welfare organisation. She is also a non-executive director at Vedanta Limited.
