Most of us can’t even think of crushing a metal can with just our heads. If one attempts to do that, a serious injury is confirmed. However, for Muhammad Rashid crushing cans with his head is an easy feat. The martial arts teacher recently made the Guinness World Record for the “most drink cans crushed with the head”. He made this record by successfully crushing 39 cans in just 30 seconds. Muhammad Rashid made this record in Karachi, Pakistan, on May 19, 2024.
The Guinness World Record shared his record attempt video on Instagram where it raked in over 4 lakh likes. The video showed a long table strapped with metal drink cans. Muhammad Rashid then smacks his head over these cans as they burst open. In the comments, while many people expressed awe at Muhammad Rashid’s physical strength, others argued that such world records should not be promoted as they can cause serious head injuries.
Commenting on this video, an Instagram user wrote, “Many neurons were saved in the making of this video.” Another person wrote, “While there are thousands of people trying to overcome a cranial/brain trauma, there is a blessed one doing a stunt like this.” Someone jokingly asked, “Now the real question is did he get drunk prior to doing this.” An Instagram user wrote, “This should not be allowed.”
This is not the only record held by Muhammad Rashid. Over the years, he has earned over 30 world records in the field of martial arts. He is the founder and president of the Pakistan Academy of Martial Arts.
Back in 2020, he made the record for the most cans crushed with the head in one minute, which was 58. His other records are, most walnuts crushed by the hand in one minute (284), most drink cans crushed with the elbow in one minute (77), most watermelons crushed with the head in 30 seconds (49), and most spins of a fire staff in one minute (188). He told the Guinness World Records that he aims to have 100 world records in his name.
The Pakistani martial artist has also trained his daughter, Fatima Naseem, to break a record too. In 2020, she broke the record for the most full-contact elbow strikes in one minute using alternate elbows (female) with an incredible 242 strikes.
